Education & Outreach

Our educational projects and services include:

Solar Energy Education: Introduce your group or class to the basics of solar power and how the sun can provide our buildings with the energy they need.

Energy Audits in Schools: While the school learns how "green" and energy-efficient its buildings are, students can learn about how solar power works, how buildings use energy, and how they can help conserve energy.

Green School Design: Environmentally friendly schools that are built to LEED and other green buildings standards save money in operations costs and also provide better, healthier learning environments for students and teachers. Bright Power co-authored a report with Greg Kats of Capital E (www.cap-e.com), for the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, reviewing the costs and benefits of green schools. These benefits include: energy savings, emissions reductions, water and wastewater reductions, increased earnings potential for students, asthma reduction, health improvements (cold/flu reduction), and increased teacher retention.
