Daedalus BeforeDaedalus Design & Construction builds and paints scenery and props for theatre, television, trade shows, and film. Their workshop in northern Brooklyn was in need of a lighting upgrade.

In the workshop and tool room, the dated fluorescent and HID metal halide lights were replaced with high-efficiency T-8 florescent lights. For added energy savings, occupancy sensors were installed to control the lights in the office space and kitchen, and outdated CRT monitors were replaced with high-efficiency flat-panel LCD monitors. Daedalus AfterSmart Financing: The total cost of work had an approximate payback of 3 ½ years. Daedalus Design & Construction received a North Brooklyn Energy Grant from NYIRN to cover the cost of the upgrade.
