Fuel Conversion

New York City is phasing out the use of #6 heating oil. Besides, today natural gas costs less than half the price of oil.  Bright Power will help you decide the best course of action for your building.

Starting December 14, 2012, Con Edison is expanding its infrastructure in three stages to deliver natural gas to properties in areas of Manhattan and the Bronx and may be able to offer a zero-cost gas connection to your building. Bright Power will work with you to submit the necessary paperwork by the appropriate deadlines and prepare a fuel-conversion feasibility assessment to estimate your internal plumbing costs and expected savings. The first deadline is December 14, 2012 so act quickly to take advantage of a potential zero-cost gas connection. Please fill out the fields below to have a Bright Power representative contact you today.

Boiler, No. 6 Fuel Oil

In July 2012, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will stop issuing Certificates to Operate for boilers burning #6 oil, under city rules finalized in 2011. Boilers with Certificates to Operate that renew after July 1, 2012 must be converted to burn #4 fuel oil (which in turn will be phased out in 2030), #2 oil or natural gas.
