NYIRN - North Brooklyn Energy Grant

The New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN) launched a grant program in 2007 designed to help manufacturing companies reduce and stabilize energy costs through the use of simple, inexpensive energy conservation measures. This pilot program was initiated as part of the effort to retain industrial businesses and jobs in North Brooklyn and grows out of an agreement between the City Council and the Mayor.

In 2007, NYIRN awarded grants to 21 companies employing a total of 1,458 New Yorkers. Grants were used for projects ranging from lighting upgrades to the installation of cogeneration units. As a result of the North Brooklyn Energy Grant Program, over 2 MW of energy was taken off the grid. (statistics courtesy of NYIRN)

**The funder is no longer accepting applications at this time, but Bright Power, Inc. will continue to help our clients keep updated on new funding sources and incentive programs as appropriate.
