Klaar De Schepper
At Bright Power, Klaar helps New York City building owners comply with Local Law 84, the country's most ambitious effort to benchmark energy consumption in buildings. She tests Bright Power's EnergyScoreCards software and develops ideas for improvements and new features. Klaar works on ways to optimize data gathering efforts, streamline processes, and structure documentation.
While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, Klaar worked as a project manager at Columbia University's Engineering School, where she managed corporate exchange projects. Klaar conducted research at IBM and at the Columbia Libraries, where her passion for information management truly flourished. Before starting her academic career, Klaar worked as a project manager for architects, artists and nonprofits. She once helped produce a film about a cargo-cult on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu.
Klaar has a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Science and Sustainable Development from Columbia University.
