Gregory Sherman, VP of Existing Buildings Division
The day-to-day finds Greg managing client relations, reviewing energy audit reports, allocating company resources, discussing appropriate efficiency measures with auditors, and verifying the accuracy of projected costs and savings for a given energy project. These energy-consuming processes are sustained by his desire to see the country develop a whole set of buildings that are net zero by the end of the decade. He gives particular focus to spending time with past, present and future clients, framing our services in layman's terms, helping businesses better understand how their actions affect their energy consumption, and getting people excited about the potential for energy savings.
Greg brings extensive field experience in building audits and his expertise in lighting design, mechanical systems, and construction management. Prior to working at Bright Power, he was a commercial building appraiser and construction foreman. His energy audit experience has included multifamily residences, commercial offices and industrial warehouses, and he relishes opportunities to conduct hands-on measurement and verification and use data to turn efficiency skeptics into believers. As he enters buildings, he can't help looking up at lights in buildings, investigating suspicious building energy systems and feeling a hankering to get into the mechanical rooms, because energy is being used everywhere, and calling awareness to that is the first step to reducing it.
Greg is a CEM, BPI Multifamily Building Analyst, LEED AP, and NYSERDA SCLP Lighting Ally Designer.
