Eric Ast, Manager, Energy Analysis
Eric manages Bright Power's fuel conversion, water-conservation, and energy procurement business lines. His economics background and analytic skills are put to the test in helping properties find ways to comply with the phase-out of #6 heating oil, conserve water, and buy energy less expensively in deregulated markets.
He also creates the office’s largest volume of faxes and incoming mail, a result of the time he spends sweet-talking utility company customer service representatives into providing billing data for client accounts (after clients have sent signed release forms, of course). This data is used for energy benchmarking and post-retrofit analysis for the HUD Green Retrofit and Mark to Market Programs.
Eric is a BPI Multifamily Building Analyst and has a BS in Systems Engineering and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. He is a former newspaper columnist and occasional stand-up comedian and improviser.
