Brooklyn Brewery produces its specialty, test and seasonal beers at its facility in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The facility was originally 14,650 square feet; the brewery is planning an expansion of 9,905 square feet.  In addition to the brewery, the building has an events space for parties, tastings, and meetings.

Bright Power conducted an energy study for Brooklyn Brewery that reviewed electricity and gas use at the facility.  The study also analyzed energy usage for proposed retrofits meant to increase employee comfort and productivity in the expanded facility, such as daylighting.  Funding for the study was provided by an Engineering Grant from the National Grid Energy Efficiency Program and NYIRN (New York Industrial Retention Network).

Based on field surveys and energy bill analyses, a number of energy efficiency measures were identified, including the implementation of:

·  energy efficient lighting systems
·  destratification fans
·  infrared heaters
·  duct sealing
·  motor maintenance
·  skylights
·  high-efficiency process cooling
·  solar panels
·  evaporator fan control and evaporator motor upgrades

The final report included information about potential financial incentives available from National Grid and NYSERDA.
